Luke has started creating pretend babies of his own. I think it's part of his way of dealing with Gabe's arrival. Here's a conversation we had yesterday:
Luke: Daddy, look, it's my baby. *Shows me a black and white spotted pig*. It's my cow.
Me: That's a pig.
Luke: He's cute. *Looks at the pig. Runs away to play.*
2 minutes later, Luke: Daddy, look, it's my baby. *shows me the pig*. It's my cat.
Me: It's a pig. Look, see how his ears stand up?
Luke: Hold him. *Hands me the pig.* He's cute. He's my baby. *Takes the pig and runs away.* He's crying, he's hungry.
We need to get Luke some dolls. He has a police car, and the current passengers are: an octopus, the pig, a jack, a police badge, and a block. Usually the police car is delivering a pizza (we almost never get pizza delivered).
Gabe's had a stomachache and hasn't slept in 24 hours. Hopefully he sleeps soon or Melissa might be sleeping in a rocking chair.
